Where Traditional Steps Come to Life

Brevthos UAB brings authentic Lithuanian folk dance to Klaipėda through structured, accessible group classes that honor tradition while building real skill.

Our Beginning

Building Community Through Movement

We started in 2023 because we saw something important being lost — the direct transmission of folk dance knowledge that used to happen naturally in families and communities.

Most people think folk dance is just old routines preserved in museums. But that's not what we do. We teach living, breathing tradition — the kind you can actually feel in your body and share with others.

Our approach is practical. We don't overwhelm beginners with complex footwork. Instead, we start with the fundamentals — proper posture, basic rhythm patterns, weight distribution. These core skills matter. They're the foundation everything else builds on.

And we've learned something important: people learn better together. Group classes create accountability, energy, and real community. You're not just learning steps — you're joining something.

Our Method

How We Structure Learning

We've developed a teaching framework that works because it respects both the tradition and the people learning it.

Footwork Foundation

We start with basic steps — traditional Lithuanian patterns taught in progression. Each week builds on what came before, so nothing feels rushed.

Rhythm Training

Understanding the underlying beat and pattern structure is non-negotiable. We teach rhythm as something you feel, not just something you count.

Group Formation

Once basics are solid, we move into group dances. This is where folk dance becomes what it really is — shared cultural expression.

What Drives Us

Principles That Guide Everything We Do

Our classes aren't just about learning choreography. They're built on specific commitments we make to every student.

  • Respect for Tradition

We teach authentic steps and patterns as they've been passed down, but we're not rigid about it. Folk dance has always evolved with communities.

  • Clear, Practical Teaching

No vague instructions. We break movements into pieces, show exactly where your weight goes, and don't move forward until you're ready.

  • Inclusive Environment

You don't need prior dance experience. You don't need to be young or athletic. Folk dance is for everyone in the community.

  • Real Progress, Not Just Motion

We track your actual development — rhythm accuracy, foot placement, confidence in formations. You'll notice real improvement.

"

Folk dance isn't something you watch or study from books. It's something you do with your body and share with others. That's the only way it stays alive.
